I am a Network and Linux System Engineer with a cultural background in humanities and learning design. I have a strong interest in informal training and I see learning as a process always intertwined with our daily activities. Rather than merely being in love with technology, I am interested in the IT world as a way to empower people. At the RIPE NCC we are migrating our configuration management system to a mixed solution using Salt and Ansible. This article describes the issues we were facing with the old system and the selection of a new platform.
