About the author

Mariano Scazzariello is a Senior Researcher at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, where he works on programmable networks, datacenter systems, and the application of machine learning to networking. His research focuses on high-speed packet processing, network programmability, and practical tools for evaluating and operating large-scale network infrastructures. Mariano has contributed to top-tier networking venues such as NSDI and CoNEXT, and his work has received multiple awards, including Best Paper at ACM CoNEXT and the IRTF/IETF Applied Research Networking Prize. He is actively involved in the RIPE community, with talks and tools presented at RIPE meetings, including work on MANRS compliance automation and scalable network emulation. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Roma Tre University and previously conducted postdoctoral research at KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
