RIPE Atlas has been nominated for an award by the Netherlands chapter of the Internet Society (ISOC).
RIPE Atlas was nominated along with five other ventures in the “best social initiative” category. Other awards categories include best government initiative, best business initiative, security and privacy, and the Internet and the arts. Juries in each category are made up of experts in those fields.
The ISOC Netherlands awards aim to showcase the most interesting and important initiatives taking place on the Internet and to encourage the continued growth of the Internet.
RIPE Atlas is the largest Internet measurement network ever created. It employs a global network of probes to measure Internet capacity, traffic, speed and performance, and will provide unprecedented understanding of the state of the Internet in real time. The RIPE Atlas network is continually growing and currently consists of nearly 2,000 probes. Find out how to contribute and apply for your own probe .
The awards will be presented on 22 November at the anniversary meeting of the Internet Society Netherlands at the University of Amsterdam. Find out more about ISOC Netherlands and the awards (in Dutch only).
